Description of Active Adventure

If you're looking for the best Orca viewing and Native Cultural kayaking tour in Johnstone Strait, at a reasonable price, then this is the trip for you. Our floating Pacific Orca Lodge is located in the heart of Blackfish Sound. Our cozy lodge accommodates 6 guests in very comfortable private rooms. The superb location of the lodge provides us the good fortune to kayak to the most desirable areas within Johnstone Strait for Orca viewing and Native Cultural interpretation. Within five-minutes of paddling from the lodge we will have the opportunity to view the Orca whales on one of their frequent journeys into Blackfish Sound (the photographic opportunities are amazing). We will also take time to visit native petroglyphs and the abandoned native sites.

Typical Day

Day 1: We will meet you in the town of Port McNeill. We will leave from there via the water taxi at 12:00 pm and be delivered to the Wego Kayaking lodge at approximately 1:00 p.m. After a brief orientation and lunch we will start exploring this amazing area by kayak.Accommodation: Lodge. Included Meals: Lunch, dinner and snacks. Day 2: We will rise at 8:00 a.m. for breakfast. We will then have the opportunity to go for a paddle. The remainder of the day will be spent exploring the area by kayak and observing Orcas in their natural environment.Accommodation: Lodge. Included Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks.Day 3: We will have the opportunity to explore the islands that make up the area. The main focus of our time will be spent locating the Orcas and visiting culturally significant areas.Accommodation: Lodge. Included Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks.Day 4: After an early rise we will enjoy breakfast and some hot, fresh coffee. After breakfast we will go for a short kayak trip or just relax around the lodge as we wait for our 1:00 p.m. water taxi. We will arrive in Port McNeill at approximately 2:00 p.m.Included Meals: Breakfast and lunch.

Sleeping and meals

Pacific Orca Lodge is our private floating eco lodge located in a quiet bay in the heart of Orca viewing territory. . Our lodge was designed to provide a comfortable home base for people that would prefer not to camp while they enjoy kayaking in this pristine remote area. The lodge provides comfortable accommodation for six people plus our guides. There are two sleeping rooms downstairs along with the bathroom, kitchen area and a living room area.
