Jacob Rohrbach Inn - At the Antietam Battlefield
Description of Surrounding Area
Built around 1800, by Capt. Joseph Chapline, Revolutionary War patriot, the Inn is a perfect example of Federal Period architecture. Located in the heart of Sharpsburg, Maryland it is surrounded by the Antietam Battlefield, and was used as a hospital to care for the wounded following the battle. The Inn is named for Jacob Rohrbach who lost his life defending the property against horse thieves claiming to be Mosby�s men on July 4, 1864. Four guest rooms offer a glimpse of early American life, and a comfortable base for exploring Antietam, South Mountain, Harpers Ferry, and the C&O Canal historic areas. Bicycle rental is available for guest wishing to ride the Battlefield or explore the
C&O Canal bike path to Harpers Ferry. Battlefield guides are also available.

Wonderful fine dining is available at the nearby historic Old South Mountain Inn, or in Shepherdstown, West Virginia, just three miles away across the Potomac.

Sorry we cannot accomodate pets or smoking inside the Inn.

Rates are $119 to $149 double occupancy and
include a delicious multi-course breakfast
with home baked goodies and dishes prepared with fresh herbs from
Joanne's garden..
Other Information
Bike rental is offered for exploring
Antietam, the C&O Canal Bike Path, or taking a
day trip to Harpers Ferry.
