Description of Surrounding Area

Picture this: An adventurous drive through the scenic Hills and Bluffs of the Root River Valley. Luscious vegetation surrounds you through every twist and turn. You find yourself in an awesome trance and then suddenly you are here! You arrive into a wonderful small town in another place and time! The storefronts are as they were when Lanesboro was first put on the map! A great variety of shops ranging from a Local Winery, Amish Tours, Gourmet Restaurants, Amish Gift and Furniture Shops, Ice Cream Parlor, Full Service Outfitters with Canoe, Tube, Bike X-Ski and Snowshoe Rental, Live Professional Acting Theatre and Fine Art Store. You find a place to park and take a journey down the Root River Trail. A 60-mile paved multiple use corridor trail developed on an abandoned railroad grade. Bicycling, in-line skating and hiking in the summer and X-Skiing in the winter. Canoeing down the Root River is an adventure all in itself! Rent a canoe from the Little River General Store (1-800-994-2943), and take the 4-½ trip from Moens Bridge to Whalan. Intermediate water with many small rapids throughout the trip. Look out for the sunken tree trunks! You may find yourself up the creek without a paddle! While traveling down the Root River and State Trail outstanding views of the soaring limestone bluffs and the abundant sighting of wild turkey, deer, hawks and turkey vultures will keep you entertained.

Description of Accommodations

After 18 years in business, we are one of the oldest operating B & B's in Lanesboro and the state of
Minnesota. The Historic Home is an 1889 Queen Anne Victorian mansion, with all of it's original
woodwork and stained glass windows. It also features an extremely rare stamped leatherette paneling in the
dining room. The Home is decorated in Victorian with antiques & Victorian reproduction pieces.

Description of Rooms/Suites

The Safari Suite
This is our most popular room! It has a very unique atmosphere! Victorian with a touch of the wild! 586 sq. ft. Two room suite. One room is a seperate sitting room in with a 27 in T.V, DVD, VCR and comfortable victorian sitting furniture. The other room of course is the bedroom. It has a queen bed, private bath, hair dryer, coffee service, corner two-person whirlpool with a Montana stone surround in an alcove area out in the room hand held shower and gas fireplace with antique mantel and Montana stone hearth. A view of the fireplace from both bed and bath. A Bose Acoustic Wave Stereo System with CD Player. There is also a very large private porch with a private entrance (if you prefer) and even private parking. Full gourmet breakfast is included with these rates and is served to your private room at 9:15 AM. (dining room seating is also available) A scrumptious seasonal fruit platter and champagne is served to your room in the evening.

(Stay 2 Weekend Nights at $200 per night)

Deluxe Suite Accomodations (Sunrise & Steeple Suites)
These are two of our most requested rooms! These rooms contain the following: 450 sq. ft Suite with 12 ft. cathedral ceilings, private bath with a shower, 27in TV, DVD/VCR, AM/FM/CD Stereo, hair dryer, coffee service, corner two-person whirlpool in an alcove out in the room and gas fireplace, with a view of the fireplace from both bed and bath. Very large and comfortable furnished rooms with plenty of sitting area for a night of R & R. Our world famous gourmet full breakfast is included with rate. May be served in the room with an 48 hour advanced request.
Weekend - $175 Weekday - $145

The Masquerade Suite
Full private bath with a huge two-person whirlpool. Queen size two poster Victorian style mansion bed in
a large room, fireplace and private turret balcony. Small Mardi Gras mask collection, French Victorian sitting furniture. Hunter, burgundy and shimmering cream.

The Primrose Room
Full private bath with a two-person whirlpool and shower. Queen size Victorian mansion bed in a large
room. Features a crescent shaped stained glass window that offers a beautiful prism of morning colors.
French Victorian sitting furniture. A romantic half canopy bed. Creams, Gold and Sherry
Weekends: $125 Weekdays: $100

The Grandma Bells Room
Full private bath with two-person whirlpool. Queen size brass bed in medium room with antique dresser and
Victorian sitting furniture. Done in celadon and oyster with warm lavender accents.

Weekends: $115 Weekdays: $ 95

The Victorian Room
Full private bath, with deep old fashion porcelain tub. French Victorian sitting furniture, cherry four-poster
queen size bed with Half canopy in large room with fireplace. Hardwood floors with oriental rug. Located on the first floor.
(Very Quiet!). Done in a rich combination of ecru, cranberry red.

Amenities

Rooms with two-person whirlpools, fireplaces and private balcony. All rates include our famous 5-course breakfast. Each room has a color t.v. with cable and air conditioning. A phone is available for your convenience, but not located in guest rooms.
